WCR Entrepreneur of the Year: Linda Wilson!

Congratulations go out to our agent Linda Wilson for winning the Women’s Council of Realtors Entrepreneur of the Year award.  Wilson, an agent of our Brighton branch, accepted the award at a special luncheon ceremony at Mario’s Italian Steakhouse and Catering in Brighton on Tuesday, January 21.

She was among the four finalists nominated to win this prestigious award.  The criteria for the award includes: business accomplishments, annual production, education, leadership, mentoring, community involvement, and career achievements.  In addition to Wilson’s numerous achievements and extensive participation in GRAR committees, she also created and teaches an 8-hour class called “Working With and Understanding the Investor Client”. wilson and armand

The charismatic Wilson graciously accepted the award.  “It is truly an honor to be nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year…year after year after year,” she joked; having been nominated at least seven times.  “But I’m proud to say it’s even more of an honor to finally be the winner especially with such worthy competition.”

Watching her acceptance speech, one would never suspect that she was once afraid of public speaking.  Her confident delivery coupled with humorous lines, like how she started with WCR, demonstrated her to be an engaging orator.  “It all started” she began, “with a co-worker inviting me to lunch for an educational meeting and I thought ‘Why not, I gotta eat’.”  After being placed on several committees she was even given a leadership role on her first day as part of WCR, “I left the room for a minute and the next thing you know I’m the chair of the committee.”
